local soul

Last Saturday was one of those days where it is best to have no plans at all. What originally started as a plan to shop on the infamous "Antique Row" of the Soulard ended up being a whirlwind tour of the area. After shopping some local thrift stores and watching live bands on Cherokee Street we found ourselves at the Soulard Market. It is the biggest in the area and we happened to arrive when it was winding down. We still managed to get Julia's "best bloody mary in St. Louis", a pomegranate margarita, chicken and dumplings and some fresh pasta. We topped the afternoon off with some ice cream from Soulard Sweet Treats and still had the rest of the afternoon to head to "The Hill" for some early evening cocktails and story-telling with friends.
